Re: Could Essiac Tea cause Gout in my toe?

Perhaps it is a cleansing reaction..

Try some cherries and sour cherry juice. I know it is painful..I haven't had an attack for several months though. I just became a vegan recently but not sure why the attacks lessened as this happened prior to this.

Essiac is supposed to be good for a wide variety of health problems.

Perhaps the cleansing effect is stirring up acids. Be sure your elimination organs are cleansed for getting any toxins out.

For this, I recommend Dr Richard Schulze 's intestinal #1 and #2, 5 day kidney/ bladder cleanse, and 5 day liver/gall bladder cleanse, a lung/mucus cleanse (Linda Rector page's book detoxification has one of those) and skin brushing to be sure your main elimination organs are top notch and can get the toxins out. Also do saunas and exercise to sweat out toxins.

His products are available at herbdoc.com

here is how to do the cleanses I mentioned

scroll down to the blue print and click on the kidney/bowel and Liver Cleanses for more info

I saw one of the herbs in Essiac helps gout, slippery elm and suggest using slippery elm as a poultice (or at least make a tea and then do a fomentation of it to the toe

Also take herbal anti-inflammatory like organic turmeric tincture and so forth

I think this could be related to a healing crisis as inflammation is one of the signs.

This site mentions many symptoms of a healing crisis

http://www.falconblanco.com/health/crisis.htm

including these--

Increased joint or muscle pain
Arthritic flair up
Aches, Pains

site suggests taking an enema to help symptoms of healing crisis sometimes disappear.

http://www.health-science-spirit.com/healingcrisis.html

site says under patterns of healing this posibly applicable quote to your case

"At some stage on the road towards health, the body will feel strong enough to start the fight again for healing the diseased organ, and inflammation will result. Such healing reactions are usually short lived, but can be rather violent. If one supports the body during this period with rest, cleansing diets and so forth, then the organ will eventually acquire a much better health than before the flare-up. If, however, drugs are used to suppress the healing symptoms, then the inflamed organ will return to its subacute, chronic condition and wait for another opportunity to heal itself"

inflammation is definitely involved in gout.

also I was reading in dr gabriel cousens book that there are 7 stages of disease and inflammation was like 3rd or 4th and in healing one goes backwards through the stages so maybe that is involved.

If you had gout before, it could also just be a co-incidence I guess, but I am healing towards healing crisis maybe. essaic taken as Renne Cassie recommended it be made is a great thing and I read it cures dozens of ills.
