Re: seb

One of the things that helped me deal with my EC was when I thought about what if I had normal lips and a person who had severe EC just walked by, would I stare?

The answer is YES, it made me realize that we’re all humans and we have that very typical human-nature to stare at something different.

So when I notice someone staring at me and they are just wondering “Gosh what’s wrong with his lips” I make an effort to try and let them know that I have a condition called Exfoliative Cheilitis. To which they normally reply “Ouch! It must be painful” I let them know that there’s very little discomfort.

If you simply cannot change a situation or circumstance then you must therefore change your ATTITUDE towards it. It makes you feel a lot better.
