I broke an 18 day on fresh squeezed and strained orange juice and it destroyed me. I got soo sick, for days. I only drank a little bit, but my ultra-sensitive fasting body could not handle the juice without the fiber. I truly feel like I did myself harm by breaking my fast on juice. Without the fiber, the juice gave me a horrible, gross crash. But with the fiber, I felt fine. Now I will only break a fast on fresh, whole ripe juicy fruits, or a gentle banana mash mixed with a bit of water. I feel like I need fiber to "brush out" my intestines after a fast. I always do mono, 1 type of fruit at a time.
I used to be an advocate of juicing, but ever since that experience, I probably won't do it again. I prefer fruit as nature designed, whole. My body responds well to whole ripe fruits, especially after a fast.
