I would suggest you use liquid minerals that contain trace minerals...better absorbed source of minerals and they help to alkalinize the body...an acid state can contribute to constipation. You can find them at any health food store.
Hard water contains more minerals (not necessarily in the combination that your body needs)...but I hope you're drinking purified water...not from the tap! Tap water is loaded with chemicals and particulates that are not good for you.
Laxative and stool softeners will only address the problem symptomatically...they will not heal the underlying causes...which is what you want to do. Avoid anything with mineral oil in it...it blocks absorption of vitamins and it's a petroleum product!
