Re: my wife --- gallbladder? acid reflux? help ++UPDATE++

My wife seems to be recovered!

After reading motif's link, I made a chiropractor appointment. He did some x-rays and showed us how her spine was slightly twisted from the way it should be. Especially down low in the hip area and up in the neck area.

He said he could help her - and he did.

He did some snap-crackle-pop stuff to her - wow! It hurt her momentarily, and you could literally hear the bones pop.

After the "adjustment" - she was given some kind of massage.

She walked out of that office feeling absolutely normal again. No more breathing problems. No more belching. No more of the feeling something was blocking her throat.

He has her scheduled for massage treatments every day for the next four days. He says she will need more "adjustments" from time to time - as she ages this will bother her again occasionally.

I am so thankful that I came here to ask advice! Thanks to everyone who posted - and especially motif for sending me in a direction that had not occurred to me.

Now let me rewind a bit.

We had made an MD appointment earlier. The MD appt was at 2pm and the Chioro at 3:30.

The young MD did exactly what I told my wife he would do as we drove over there. We left with 2 new prescriptions (an anti-anxiety drug and another for acid reflux) and a referral to a specialist (ear, nose & throat).

They also drew blood to test for thyroid problems... and I forget what else.

I believe the Doctor pretty much thought it was all in her head...

IMO, this would have started us on a medical wild goose chase that possibly could last for years with drugs and misdiagnosis, and maybe even some unnecessary surgery.

This office visit and lab tests produced a bill of $280, and a referral to a specialist that would have no doubt led to an endoscopy and dramatically larger expenses.

We left that office feeling worse than when we came in. No answers, no relief for my wife. My wife was still suffering from the throat/breathing problems.

We went straight from there to the chiro appt.

The stark contrast -
We left the chiropractors office feeling the problem had been solved. And the bill there was only $98.

Again, I was not even thinking about Chiropractic until motif mentioned it ---

Thank you motif - thank you Trapper, thank you CURE-ZONE!
