Re: End all be all argument about National Health Care.

In Aus we have a national health care system. A few years ago I had a serious car accident, I had to have a number of operations to reset bones, fix a large crack in my skull, months of rehabilitation etc. There was no way I could afford to pay for all this treatment, (and I would be dead now without it). This stuff costs money, and I'm happy to pay for it with my tax dollars.

I'm a great believer in alternative health, (as most of you guys here know), but there are times where we do need to get put back together, and I for one am very glad I didn't have to pay up front for all the care I was given after the accident.

My tax dollars pay for education, (although I don't always agree with what is taught), the police force, (allthough the police are not above corruption, I prefer a society where they exist more than the alternative), welfare for those less fortunate, (you never know when that might be you), etc etc etc.

Its the same old story, most people want all these benefits and protections, but no-one wants to pay for them.
