Just a quickie here...the reason garlic is recommended is because it's a very effective choleretic/cholagogue herb(increasing bile production/increasing bile flow).
Garlic is something Dr. Schulze added to his 5 day liver cleanse drink (which is optimally followed by a regular 'liver flush'). He also added ginger root (same reason - cholagogue...and because it helps with the various digestive disturbances that accompany cleansing a clogged/congested liver). AND garlic is pure poison to liver flukes! So taking garlic before a Liver Flush makes PERFECT sense :)
