Sorry guy, but I had to respond to the PH Balance issue. As a Certified Nutritional Therapist, I have to tell you that the PH Balance information supplied on that site is not good advice. This "doctor" does not understand how the body works, but has taken a basic principal of body alkaline pH and greatly distorted the facts.
First of all, fat is the way the body protects organs by storing toxins in fat tissue and I agree with the doctor about that, but fat is not the demon here. Our genetics have only changed about 0.1% in the last 40,000 years since agriculture was introduced. Primitive man ate about 60% to 80% fat in his diet and lots and lots of animal meats. We are designed to eat lots of fat. FAT is not the problem. That is provided that the source of the FAT is from healthy animals. Eliminating fat is dumb, counter to how the body works, and causes many problems. Myocardial infarction started in the United States in the early 1920's. Something changed, but the problem was not eating too many saturated fats as the ego maniac Ancel Keys theorized, but the changes in our food supply did cause the problems.
ALL Fats in nature are packaged as the three types, saturated, monounsaturated, and polyunsaturated all together along with a glycerol molecule to hold it all together as FAT. It is the percentage of each that happens in different foods. Coconut has more saturated fatty acids than the others. Saturated fats are very stable, unlike the polyunsaturated fatty acids that go rancid (oxidize) rapidly. Your heart runs on saturated fats. Your body converts carbs & proteins INTO SATURATED FATS when eaten in excess. Fats are required for good protein metabolism in the body.
To say don't eat fat because of a negative pH value is ridiculous and bad science.
There is just not enough room on this page to go into the detail required to refute this guys contentions, but he is wrong in most everything he is promoting.
