Re: Ten immediate benefits of HCR
Willow, I was talking with a friend about the costs of health insurance, and the vast differences between our 2 countries.
I did some searching, in Australia, you can have the highest level of private health insurance cover (gold standard), this includes hospital, surgeries, maternity, well everything really, including all the things my $36.00 per month pays for, and the most you will pay per month, for 2 people, is $126.00 AUD, this policy does not require an excess payment, and this doesn't take into account the 30% tax rebate that the government pays people just to have private insurance. This is on top of the 1.5%, and even with this it is still very much cheaper than what you guys are paying.
A bit mind boggling !!!!
People with private health insurance are still able to access the public system, so for many people its just not worth having private insurance, its more for those that want to use private hospitals. For people like myself, that live in the country areas, there are no private hospitals, so having private hospital cover is a bit pointless.
