"...it is not admissible to ordain women to the priesthood, for very fundamental reasons. These reasons include: the example recorded in the Sacred Scriptures of Christ choosing his Apostles only from among men; the constant practice of the Church, which has imitated Christ in choosing only men; and her living teaching authority which has consistently held that the exclusion of women from the priesthood is in accordance with God's plan for his Church." Pope Paul VI.
What a load of codswallop, which one of the seven deadly sins does that emanate from? take ones choice.
I spent two years in the middle east, Yemen and Oman where the women (if ever seen) were made to remain ten paces behind their master (master? lol), and when they actually did appear they had to cover their face (of course) not with veils but these hideous masks.
My thoughts at the time (and still) that they (the arab) could not handle other men (such as us) looking at their "property", for they were (the arab) wrinkled up like an old banana skin (life expectancy? 40) and us in our flush of youth? Mmm!
It goes without saying that in society woman are looked upon as second class citizens, especially in the workplace, whether it be management or the shop floor, and it still does in so many industries.
Women have to attend tribunals to get what is already their rights and sometimes even then they do not achieve equal rights, the "Pope Paul VI" syndrome, lol.
On the other side (through this attitude towards women) "women power" came into fruition, which to many was disastrous, for many ended up extremists instead of living/working naturally alongside their fellow men.
So Spud I have spelt out what you already are aware of and it's so condescending for women to fight for "equal rights" when it's their natural place in society.
