Re: Women and christianity.
"Yes, and if men had to do childbirth, and if men had to take birth control and all it's consequences, and if men had to look over their shoulders in dark parking lots, and if men had to be mauled by men wanting their (rightful?) sex ( the DUTY of women? ), and if men had to live under the power and control and subjugation ......."
If men had to bear children, we wouldn't be discussing this, because we probably wouldn't exist.
The fact that catholic dogma says a woman should not use birth control, and that she must not deny sex to her husband, ensures that she has no control over her body. This is a very big problem for the millions of catholic women throughout the world.
Many men do live under some form of subjugation, but they see no problem in fighting this, and those who fight this are considered heros. When christian and islamic women fight the idea and practice of subjugation to men, they are labeled sinners and in some case murdered for this 'sin'.
