I thought high-dose predinose was worse than a band-aid. Over time it causes your glands to think that they don't have to produce as much and so you grow dependent. Did I hear right?

Prednisone like all hormone replacement and glandulars will atrophy the glands that would normally produce those hormones. This does lead to an dependence on the external hormone source.
