My advice to you would be to drink to thirst. If you're really thirsty for that much water, go for it. If you're forcing it on yourself (to cure yourself), stop.
There is such a thing as overdrinking. It's actually possible to flush nutrients from your body. And it's hard to digest with that much water always in your stomach.
You should really read the book "Your Body's Many Cries for Water". It would give you a better understanding of WHEN you should drink water and when you shouldn't, because it matters.
I have an associate who was a nutritionalist who drank 4+ litres of water each day. She attributes her Bell's Palsy (you cannot move the muscles in your face) to the fact she drank that much water. It started to slowly go away when she started drinking raw milk. She wished someone had told her sooner, well, I'm here to tell you now.
Anyway, good luck with whatever you decide. I agree drinking water is good, but everything in moderation.
