Re: 20 year age difference for marriage ideal

I find it very interesting how the term feminism has been twisted around by the media, and people who are afraid of women having the same opportunities in life, as men.

I was brought up with 2 very strong parents, both of which had the view that feminism is a good thing, if it means that women and men can enjoy the same opportunities in all areas of life, without having to bend to the old gender sterotypes.

All this article by Makow does, is try and re-enforce those sterotypes. Sad. Fortunately the author of this article is a dying breed, (at least in my country). Those in power, (and it is still men for the most part), will always fear losing that power. Insecurity drives people like the author of this article.

Feminism is not a dirty word, just as freedom, justice, and equality are not. I am a feminist, I don't want to be a man, I don't want to control and have power over men. I want, equal opportunity, freedom of choice, and respect, for both men and women.
