Re: DUHH! Chrisb. You admitted you eat meat. Because you had to!

Re: first article... cites growth hormones given to livestock... that is good, however it does not address the poor quality of the fats (which is what is wrong with conventional animal product fat profiles to begin with) and proteins found in agribusiness raised animals... with their Genetically-Modified-Organisms feed, drugs, confinement etc. Which, also affect hormone metabolism in humans.

Again - article one is a man-made problem\issue.

Second article - saturated fats are not *BAD*... it is again, man's ways of raising the animals that make these saturated fats *bad*.

Keeping that in mind... would omega 3's from a farmed salmon be as plentiful or as good for you as a wild caught salmon... NO!

These studies need to be exposed for the crap that they are... none of them address the root causes which is man's *production* methods... period.

The article went on to state that, "Meat, poultry, and fish also contain chemicals such as dioxins, which are known hormone disruptors.

Another man-made problem...

As far as the hormone disruptors are concerned, including dioxins... endocrine, hormonal, and neuro toxic chemicals have been sprayed on our fruits and vegetables for a very long time... they are in our water... and air. You can minimize them by going free range, organic\biodynamic, whether an omnivore or vegetarian... however, you cannot eliminate them...

As far back as the 60's we were studying infertility, sex changes, and deformities in amphibians and fish exposed to these farm chemical run offs into our waterways...

B12 - vegans\vegetarians can resolve the primary concerns of the diet with attention to using a wide variety of foods, etc. But again - this is enabled by agribusiness and the convenience of stores. Limited to a local food diet, the story would be different.

Again, in this post, I should emphasize that food *quality* matters. If food quality was priority one... and our food was as nutritious as it was when produced on well managed farms in the very early 1900's, and we eliminated all of the garbage processed foods from production, we would likely reduce production quantity needs at least in half, reduce pollution, water use, energy use, etc.

Man made problems\issues are the bulk of the defense most vegans\vegetarians use for their arguments to support their diet as a be-all, end-all...
