It's just data. It's not about you/me, until we make it about us. The ability to make that distinction, to keep the data separate from us as individuals, until we make it about us, is a choice. We retain the right as individuals to choose when the data becomes about us personally.
One of the problems is that most people in our society d not choose to separate their self image from external data so they become very emotionally driven, responding to their environment and the opinions and data presented by others.
In effect the are universal reactors, reacting out of resonance vs responding out of awareness and openness.
A wonderful form of power is to disallow that kind of emotional entanglement.
