As far as eye irritation, I haven't seen anyone with the bright red eyes that I saw in the first month after the spill. It was quite scary looking. I did have a customer who had been diagnosed with chronic dry eye, and she had drainage form the stuff they gave here for the irritated eye, so her doc had implanted tubes in her ears to keep her from getting ear infections.
She couldn't see a thing, her eyes were so watery when she was in the shop today from the medicine that she realy could barely see.
I don't know what the long term consequences will be, and we are really quite a long way from the worst of the spill site.
Fox news just ran interviews with Louisanna shrimpers, who were saying that there is a lot of oil that has sunk to the floor of the gulf, and that BP should be responsible for cleaning it up.
BP is pulling back it's clean up efforts, because they say they are done.
I feel much better today, the heat has lessened today, and it's rained on and off all day.
I haven't tested the rain water, but I wouldn't drink it, that's for sure.
