hashimotos questions help

Is there anything that you can do to stop/reduce thyroid antibodies from attacking the thyroid? I want to do something about it now, before things get really bad.

I have heard that avoiding glutein has helped some people. But I have been told there isn't anything you can do to stop these antibodies from attacking the thyroid.

Has anybody tried this or done anything else that can stop or reduce these thyroid antibodies from attacking the thyroid.

Also does hashimotos mean eventually the thyroid will be destroyed and I'll have to be on medication for the rest of my miserable life?

Please anybody any thoughts and ideas on this??
