I've had kefir grains for years and i'm used to them doing weird stuff, like changing apperance and so on. However, in the last month or so they've become really weird.
First of all most of them are very smooth in texture, almost glass like. Apart from that there are a lot of bubble groing from them that look like little balls filled with kefiran. I don't mean 2 or 3, but a lot. They are smooth in texture and made of normal translucent kefir structure...they are wasy to seperate from the greain they are attached to and when you burst them they are fill with slimy kefiran.
Any idea what that is or why they've changed so much?
The kefir tastes good and they are growing but it's hard to be sure everything is ok when it gets weird like this.
