Re: How long of a fast do I need to get to my goal weight?
You are overweight of course fact we have near identical start weights I was 258.8 on morning started fast and 260 is about my heaviest ever thats why I started. I am 5ft 6 and done lots of weights thru the years,done lots of aerobics lately ,tried to eat healthy but still weight was between 250 and 260 for years now.
My bodyfat scale showed like 50% bodyfat! Yikes. I had lots of weight related health issues, bending over was really hard, out of breath just walking around. Sore feet,back, chest pains, chronic fatigue,gout,and sure a few more.
So did juice while back think year or two and did it think 14 or 20 maybe did too but forget already and lost bit like 20
pounds or so and then gained that back by simply doing my old habits. Not exercising ,eating whatever ,whenever,lots of snacking etc. No big suprise coudln't keep it off.
So fast forward to now. Water this time. After day 2 was simple no hunger and so far no bad anything no dizzyness. You can read my posts on the other forum the water forum pretty much daily posts. So at day 19 and weigh 230.8.Feel already 100% better many of the above problems are vanishing.
Back to you. most can lose about pound a day on water only. 5 to 10 maybe first 3 or 4 days than the average of 1 is typical. Maybe get that big higher with some aerobics,don't think person could do weights too well or too safely on water fast.
I do treadmill or bike 5x week or so. No weights till after fast.
my bodyfat was like 40 per cent on scale lately so seem to be doing ok. I dont' seem to be losing any muscle really.
I seem to be losing fat like crazy. My stomach is way way down and down a few pants sizes already.
so to lose 100
pounds is pretty huge task unless you are one of rare people that lose a lot more than typical.I would say to lose 100 you would need to go about 90days if you add in the cardio.
Juice fasting likely would have to 200 or something.Half pound a day is likely on juice fasting.About half of water course depends on how many calories are coming in from the juice.on water is obviously zero.
While some frown on things like green tea on this forum I have read they can help with both energy and fat loss rate but of course its your choice I am taking them daily and they really help with energy not sure on the fat loss part.
So not sure what you should do but pretty much in same dilemna.I figure will lost at his rate about 40pounds at 30 days. 50 at 40. 60 at 50 and 70 at 60. STill unfortunately a bit too slow for me. but not into doing water past 60 and really didn't want to go past the old 40 day on water. Can maybe go to mixing juice for some days then water and back and forth ,Can maybe go to raw for month or two there it can burn up a lot of fat. Was going to go to some type of intermittent fasting like caveman diet, eating window type of thing or EAT STOP EAT intermittent. Of course this time will absolutely keep up aerobics 5x week and weights 3x week or 4x.
Its crucial and try to cut every calorie I can everywhere with all the little tricks like pretty much only drinking water, not eating meals if not hungry ,use smaller plates, etc.etc I am deadly no pun intended serious this time to get it off and keep it off.
There is girl on youtube that did three pretty much back to back 40 day fasts with just a break of week or so in between. She dropped a ton of weight and was skelton by last fast. Not sure what her starting weight was think she was more doing it for GOD type of thing..whatever. I am not doing it for mystical reasons just health and overweight problems.
I believe you have to get down far enough so when you gain back that initial 5 to 10 or so from salt and carbs that you don't give up . And you have to be willing to do exercise as well as said aerobics and weights but would say weights are better if you have to pick one of the two.
And you can't just go out and eat 5000 calories every meal again.
