Re: Have enzyme complex tablets ever caused stomach distention

 So, I have been taking enzyme complex capsules and have noticed huge (should've capitalized) stomach distention, but not sure if they are the culprit. I haven't eaten anything out of my comfort zone and I'm worried. I have been taking them 3 times a day for a week. I'm not liking the feeling too much as you can guess. Can anyone tell me what they think about this?

If the distension is from gas then there is fermentation going on.  In the stomach this would be from a lack of stomach acid.  If in the intestines a lack of flora.  Enzymes can male this worse as many break down starches and fibers in to simple sugars that contribute to fermentation.

If not from gas, but from fluid this could be from liver issues causing ascites.
