Im surprised that nobody has mentioned COQ10. As we all know here, "what happens in your mouth is actually a mirror for your whole body."* COQ10 is in every cell of the body and is especially active/needed in the mitochondria of cells. Most of us run around dehydrated, Iodine deficient and so on a so forth...with our soils depleted and animals not be pastured/grass fed we need to be aware that even if we "eat right" we probably dont get the full compliment of vitamins/minerals/enzymes we need in this day and age. To keep it short (not preaching to the choir), I suggest trying some COQ10. Being an actual constiuent of each and every cell (w/mitochondria) of the body it can do no harm. COQ10 used to be extremely expensive but within reach of most. Dont get caught up in all the marketing (latest being unbiquinol). Plain ole COQ10 is fine for starts. Q-gel process makes it more "bio-available" but really not worth the extra $$s at this point. (If you find it helps then think about the Q-gel.) I read people w/periodontal issues start at about 120mg 2x per day. Im a big reader..."The COQ10 Phenomenon by Stephen T Sinatra, MD FACC (dont hold that against him. Hes challenging long held allopathic medicine beliefs here.) In particular, Chapter 11. Just go down to your public library or get online if theyre tech savy and just read. Hope this gives you another option.
