Re: Vitamin D is mandatory to heal leaky gut

Thanks for the link. The English translation is a bit ropey but I get the drift.

Medical doctor and researcher, Cedric Garland, can be seen giving a talk about the effect of vitamin D on Tight Junctions at
Garland’s interest is in cancer and he doesn’t mention leaky gut but I think what he’s saying can’t fail to have a bearing on it because, in places at least, there is only a layer of epithelial cells, with their Tight Junctions, between the contents of the gut and the blood-stream. In addition vitamin D is well known for strengthening the immune system in general.

Modern researchers recommend much higher doses of vitamin D and higher blood-levels of it than mainstream doctors do as yet. A recent update on this is available at
Good sources of further information about vitamin D include
and there are a lot of books for the general public around now as well.

The Vitamin D Council newsletter of April 2010, which can be read at the website, contains a brief reference to a 30-year-old woman being cured of food intolerance by vitamin D. This caught my attention because that’s what I suffer from, so I’m giving it a go.
