Re: How long to take fluconazole if you don't have a proper diagnosis

You don't take fluconazole for a week and then quit. Ever heard of drug resistance? If you do start taking something like fluconazole you better take as long as you can ("at least 2 weeks after candida is not detected in your fluids"). Otherwise it's another weapon lost in the fight against candida.

The concern about drug resistance is leading me to take it intravenously because pills' bioavailability is only 90%. It's a pain in the neck though learning how to do a drip. I don't even know if I'd be better off going abroad somewhere where I can hire a nurse to do it for me.
