If I have Lyme Disease and a very poor immune system (I'm pretty sick) - should I consider going really slow?

I have Lyme friends who take Ivermectin once or twice a week longterm. They said taking too much can be detrimental (too much die off & when parasites die they often leave holes in the colon)

Any advice?
