If the adrenals are merely a hormone factory, what is keeping the orders going into the factory?

It is the same like a muscle which is excited 24/7. It will decay on its own because it has no oppurtunity to relax and rebuild, repair.
When your adrenals are steadily stimulated through copper or mercury they will not heal and stress hormone cortisol and adrenaline will be up until total exhaustion.
