I spent 6 months down there with this condition, and found only slight improvement, half the time I was in the country working on farms, and half the time in big cities. It was hard to eat a diet like montrealhomegrown's down there, but the health food industry and organic movement is slowly growing.
The Brazilians who commented on my condition suggested cocoa butter, which they have plenty of down there. I was at the edge of the Amazon (in the city of Belem) asking a guy in a marketplace about his natural medicines, which were all in colored tincture bottles. He basically tried to sell me natural v!agra and not knowing if he was for real I didn't get anything. Also, lest we forget the Brazilians doctors who claimed that Brazilian calendula oficianalis cured a guy (but their before and after photos were photoshopped).
I'm going to a humid part of Brazil in June and will stay for several months. Of course I'll keep y'all posted if there's progress.
