My being here has been extremely hit & miss lately but want to share this recipe in case some one wants to give it a study. It's similiar to chopped onion & honey recipe for coughing, which get's stronger with each passing day but can ferment on you. Keep an eye on it.
One full head of garlic (peeled but not chopped)
One TBSP. 15+ Manuka honey
One verticle drops of Lugol'sIodine (5%)
Top off with 8oz of ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar)for pickling.
The garlic turned purple at first but after a month in frig all purple disappeared. Honey turned into a liquid state. This stuff is HOT! (Because I had forgotten to come back and add the vinegar). I had a cold with sore throat hit me. Took one tsp. along with eating a clove and it burned going down. Kind of felt sick afterwards. Next time I had soup with it. No more sore throat and cold was gone. Two days later (after out patient procedure) got re-infected and got sore throat again. Tried this method again and it took away the sore throat. Husband said it worked for him too. It's been a month in frig and no fermentation. I would throw it away after that because garlic makes it too hot.
Added info- I was learning how to pickle garlic and thought adding Iodine might work, and if anything be a good way to get some Iodine in my family. Didn't expect it to be so hot. I had not added the vinegar. When I saw a video on onion & honey for coughing I thought it was funny that this was somewhat similiar.
For sore throat add just one verticle drop of iodine and leave out vinegar.
