Also, I want to add to that, some people may find benefit in choosing to stay away from certain foods (high protein/fat like beef, nuts, oils, eggs, other meat) for a period of time until they feel healed enough to add back those hard-to-digest foods.
I'm learning a ton about the importance of food combining. No wonder we're all sick! We just eat what tastes good and looks good.
Basically you can add EITHER starch OR protein OR fat, to your leafy or non-starchy veggies. Eat up and enjoy! Fruits should always be eaten alone. Sometimes acidic fruits can be added to leafy greens, sometimes cooked, as appropriate for their warming/cooling qualities. Crazy stuff. How often do I give my kids a big bowl of oatmeal with milk and fruit? How often do we eat a big cheeseburger on a roll, followed by fried potatoes? God, it's our own fault. No wonder we can't digest anything and start having issues. /rant lol
