Although I have no reference to hand, I seem to recall that besides body fat, the body also consumes excess tissue wherever it may be including moles and tumors. According to one article, moles are just where many skin cells overgrow in one location and due to the concentration of melanin, turn darker than the surrounding skin.

Hopefully with one gone, they'll all soon respond.

Because you mentioned it, I thought to look for mine and cannot find them. I'll check again when my face fills out again but even if they are, I don't know how long ago they disappeared. It's good news regardless of how they go.
