Highly lkalizing fruits are watermelon, cantaloupe, grapefruit, dates, figs, oranges, lemons, limes, pineapples, sour cherries.

You do not NEED meat for protein - look at the vegetarians and vegans. Alkalizing proteins would include pumpkin seeds, flax seed meal, chia seeds, almonds, millet, and tempeh. If you are trying to beat acidity, watch your meat intake, only in incremental amounts, or take a pre-digested form if you're OK with it (pea/hemp/whey/egg powders).

I am on an alkalizing diet but am not sure if I have a candida overgrowth, so am being VERY cautious with fruits. I have not noticed a flare-up when I only eat one fruit a day, usually in the morning, on an empty tummy. The trick is, don't eat fruit after a carb- or protein- heavy meal because the fruit (quick to digest) will sit in your gut and ferment.

Timing is crucial. Fruits are cleansing; eat them alone, don't combine with other foods.
