I don't want to be discouraging or suggest you should not follow your doctor's advice. Indeed, I'm not a physician! :-) However, I can tell you that I followed a strict Candida diet under the supervision of naturopath for several months, and saw no results. I also tried a round of protopic and it caused my lips to peel even more - this told me that my lips wanted nothing to do with any topical. In fact, protopic was the last thing I applied.

I think you are fine having trimmed off the flake that was detached by the oil. Don't be too worried about such things. All you can do it what you can do. Simply do your best to not disturb your lips, but when you do just try to minimize the effects, as you did.
