My results from a year ago show that I have been able to lower bromide.
A recap...last year after my first test results I started taking Iodine occasionally, but was somewhat concerned in taking too much as I showed Iodine excretion at 91%. After understanding the effects of bromide and the symporter or organification issues with bromide I started upping Iodoral from 12.5mg a day to 50mg a day starting Dec '11.
Results show Bromide went from 31.4mg excreted in Feb 2011 to 2.26mg excreted this Apri 2012l. I did not do a flouride test last year, but did this year. It was at 2.54mg excreted and it should be lower than 1.3mg.
Iodine excretion was at 80%. Not sure what to make of that except maybe I'm absorbing a little more than last year at 91%?
I hope I'm doing some good, because I really can't seem to tell too much, yet. I envy the people who have positive results so soon ;) I can, however, tell exactly when I started Iodine because I have a nice white line that started showing up across four of my toes the same time ;)
Unfortunately, I didn't get started on iodine supplementation in the higher doses until after I had begun going through menopause. I have always been pretty active running 4mi, five days a week when I was 50, but the hot flashes, fatigue, brain fog, lack of good sleep and lower back pain are making me feel really old at 56:( I will just keep on keeping on, I guess :) I'm in this for the long haul and it sounds like it'll take awhile to turn things around.
Any of you with positive stories to tell, let me know that it's worth it and there is light at the end of the tunnel ;)
I think someone (cougar?) mentioned taking skki. I may contact trapper and add this to my long list of supplements.
Thanks for letting me vent ;)
God bless for all you do.
