Re: Another case of why Blastocystis is NOT PATHOGENIC, but somethign else always the problem...
>I am originally from Colombia, perhaps that is the reason why I am makign a big fuss about the $500. Anyway, next time i am Colombia i am going to get tested for sure. Since you have done it in Brazil, can you tell me, how did you ge tested? I mean, did you request testing for a particular pathogen or it was a comprehensive stool test like the ones they do here?
Hey, if you find a good lab in Colombia please tell us :o)
With Labion It was a comprehensive stool test but they don't use this same terminology over there... I took 4 days of stool samples and placed in the same container with a liquid and on the 5 day I took stool sample and placed in a container without liquid and delivered the samples withing two hours to the lab. The lab results come out a couple of days after the delivery.
The test with Clinica Aloysio de Carvalho was similar to Cahil and they were able to tell me I had giardia on the same day. They missed ameba but maybe they have improved the test. Its been years since I did the that test.
