It is the chloride that removes the bromide.

I have my mom doing potassium chloride because her inhalers push out all of her potassium and the salt gives her leg cramps at night.

Just be careful with potassium chloride because it can lower blood pressure too much if overdosed.

I guess that is why Drs prescribe beta blockers for hypertension because these are potassium "sparing" and they wouldn't want to just give them potassium when they don't make the money when we get well.
