She said Iodine Investigation Project participants prefer
magnesium glycinate or magnesium citrate.

There are many forms of magnesium:
- - - Chelated minerals are widely regarded as the most assimilable
- - - Avoid magnesium carbonate, sulfate, gluconate, and oxide. They are poorly absorbed (and the cheapest and most common forms found in supplements)

"The best forms of magnesium are magnesium taurate, magnesium glycinate, magnesium citrate, magnesium malate, magnesium oratate and magnesium oil. "

So your magnesium malate is still on recommended lists, just not preferred by participants for whatever unknown reasons.
