What's with the false dichotomy? Maybe there all multiple solutions to EC. The HPV theory may be one of them and I really hope the individuals involved are successful with their treatment.

It worked for me and saved my social life. In my case, I had the classic symptoms of EC and AC: flakey cracked lips, cuts on corner of the mouth, a peeling cycle, scabs of dead skin, crustiness, bleeding, white build-up on lips after showers, etc. The saliva/cocoa butter combination, and I want to make clear that it's not either one alone that cures EC, absolutely exterminated my cheilitis.
