Hey JSL, sorry for not updating. I just had finals at school and have been quite busy. I'm probably not going to make a big post about it, but since there's been some inquiry, I'll briefly update you. basically I've been improving very slowly (I think regardless of whatever the "right" method is for treating this is, progress should be expected to be slow). I still apply protopic twice day and as of a few weeks ago I switched from Vaseline to Palmer's cocoa butter lip balm (not the tub of it but the stick). My lips absorb it nicely unlike before and I think that may be due to the protopic. I know a lot of people on here don't think their lips are inflamed but mine have definitely gotten a little smaller. Anyway, it's quite manageable as of now so I will continue the treatment and most likely check in with my doctor soon. I'm totally on board with your theory and mindset about this. I'd only suggest that moisturizing be accompanied by some kind of medication (probably not a steroid for long term use) as I've noticed these products have been more effective after treatment. Good luck
