If new to this form of cleansing it should be the case that many toxins are neutralised by the action of the coffee on the liver, and subsequently the blood.
It could be that your small/large intestine has become irritated with contact from the toxic waste byproduct. A cleansing enema will not really help here as it can not go very far up the digestive tract.
Eating Charcoal can help, as can mixing the coffee with organic chamomile tea instead of water.
Do you have discomfort taking or holding the enema?
In any case it is important not to use tap, or ordinary filtered water. Steam Distilled is preferable, but Reverse Osmosis might do (i wouldn't use it).
In the last end you can tell if the coffee enema is working by three main methods:
1) you will feel different afterwards - removal of toxins can be felt by your brain.
2)The smell from the evacuation may not smell like fæces as much as a 'chemical compound'. In the Gerson book it states that the smell from an elderly patient was so strong the walls had to be repainted.
3)The contracting gall bladder can be physically felt, as it spews out the bile.
I do not think you should stop due to bloating, rather you should try one every day. Also make sure you are fully hydrated, and also drinking organic veg/fruit if possible. This helps with possible electrolyte problems, and gives the body something to rebuild with. Could also try to avoid possible irritants like alcohol, coffee, black tea if irritation continues. H202 and/or probiotics can help.
