He's using sarcasm. People that have been around a while on here are doing dozens if not hundreds of times more iodine/iodide than you'd get from some topical scar application.
Just make sure you're taking a multi with a good amount of B vitamins and a lot of magnesium and C. You'll also probably want to try and get at least 100 mcg of selenium a day as well. -- when the gets more Iodine it can run out of some of these nutrients because your body starts running at a faster pace... (hotter). This will help health/longevity- however you could become deficient in one of these areas over a while and cause deficiency related problems.
The amount of Iodide in any multivitamins is going to be at least a thousand times less than I take on any given day. Enjoy and good luck! (dmso mixed has shown significantly increased results -- but handle with care)
