"i recently did a salt loading for 16 days (2 halves of teaspoon daily, that's about 1200 sodium).
I took no Iodine during this period.
At the end of the 16 days i started having thyroid pain and 1 day afterward pain when swallowing. I got very worried and stopped the salt loading which stopped the thyroid pain and pain when swallowing in about a day. Anybody has an idea what to do to get rid of these bromism symptoms ? Thanks.
If salt loading caused thyroid pain, without taking iodine; I believe it is a lack of iodine; since the whole idea is that Iodine are to replace the bromide.
I also believe that you took to little iodine, 6 mg to start with, is enough to stir things up, but not enough to replace / heal the situation.
Iodine is out after a few days, so it cant cause your head ache, but bromide can. Salt is only part of the Iodine protocol, so I recommend doing all of it; with proper amounts of iodine, like 50 mg and up.
