# 1, they come from a blossom. You can start strawberries from seed, but I think most plants come from transplanting the runners.

You can start tomato plants this way too. If you take the little "sucker" that grows between the stem and a leaf, and plant it, it will grow roots and start a new plant.

That's also how banana trees are propagated. Bananas come from blossoms too.
The sucker comes from the roots on banana trees.
