I see that a very important point here is the shift to awareness: you have to be very disciplined with this diet. No other drinks, no veggies, no juice, no water, no other food is allowed, just diet coke, frites and cheese burger (double quarter pounder) and sausage crossant if needed.
You will not eat that food the same way the normal MC Donalds customer does. That's for sure!
Another huge point is challanging the belief system.
A very good friend of mine who is in the position to do these experiments went into breatharianism for some months with no problem. At some point the experiment was over for him and decided to come back and start eating and drinking normally but he wanted to challenge the whole belief system, so he broke the fast eating meat in a restaurant. And no problem!!! Now, this is not for everybody.
