The reason your face changes when looking into a mirror while having a lucid dream is because you don't actually have a physical body. The subconscious however creates the perception of one because the conscious mind expects it to be there, bur when you start to consciously focus on your body, the mind gets confused because the body really isn't there while the subconscious is also trying to create it at the same time. So a kind of morphing effect starts to happen and it can either start melting or change to a different face entirely for a moment. It also happens if you stare at your hands as well, its pretty crazy and cool at the same time.
