as much as i know multys contain beta coraten,even thogh it is labeled as vitamin a if you will look closely it is probably beta coratane. beta coratane does not harm, but it is not known how well each body can benefit from it becuase it need to transforme in the body to vitamin a if the body need vit a, but it is not converted well in most peoeple so i have read. that is why when you eat liver it most likely that you getting the vitamin a better(it doesnt need to go through conversion state).i would be checking the vitamin label to see that it is from beta coratene and not another synthethic vit a. you said you started to use the retinol few days befor the peeling began, i guess you started using it for dry lips reasons, so maybe it aggravated the condition but is not the root casue for it?!. you see it is all speculations,many people here are strageling to find an asnwer. but hey , you have it just 2 weeks, maybe it is just seasonal or something like that. try that liver advice to see if it help,try maybe sea fishes(wild caght) and seaweed,vegtebels,meat, maybe not eating gluten and grains can help?. maybe the above nutreint can help only in the presence of non gluten diet? . i am preety much adivces you here throw my point of view on this condition (absorbing issues or bad diet -lack of nutrient-bad immune system- it impacts).so this is why i adivces you those advices.
