Yeah well....it's not so funny really but very sad. I will let you know what he says but still there is no excuse. None. I am trying my best to reserve judgement about his SKILLS until tomorrow but I honestly cannot see any way possible that this guy could do ANYTHING that a million other people on the earth couldn't - with what he did at least.
I felt forced to go after getting the results from the last doctor. The regular GI doc said all results negative from the stool sample and breath test...however, he neglected to tell me not to ingest Bismuth for two weeks prior so I would not have a false negative. And I HAD ingested a LOT of Bismuth because it is in the Paragone!!! God this guy!
Diatrizoic Acid? You mean the contrast agent? Of course it is used here all the time is it not? Maybe I am mistaking this compound but if its what I think it is I'm sure your doctor knows all about it as it is used in imaging centers here all the time to look at UT, kidneys, GI Tract...he just doesn't know or want to think about having to inject it directly into someone's organs I imagine. That method may have been developed by some Expat/Volunteer docs overseas....maybe...IDK.
As far as doctor's overseas having this and using this method to rid the body of parasites I just cannot see it....at least not in third world places. I don't even think some countries I worked in had an MRI machine in the whole place can't even imagine them having any of that other stuff.
It is absolutely shocking what an advanced place we live in compared to others. I remember being bitten by something overseas and wobbling into a hospital to get help....swelling everywhere, a rash rapidly engulfing my body and anaphylaxis setting in. I laid on a table and things started to dim when, to my horror, I looked over and saw through a fading haze, about 10 doctors huddling over what I noticed was a textbook from my 8th grade anatomy class!!!!
They finally settled on benadryl right before I stopped breathing entirely :( Thank you McGraw-Hill.
Maybe places like Germany or something are doing things like injections to kill worms. They seem a little more advanced in some areas....maybe that is one of them.
Oh yes.. the anal swab...lol...oh god. Humiliating kind of. Oh god to think where that speculum may have been...oh jesus :(
My PT told me about this guy on the upper east side who was the king of parasites and had found MANY in one of her other patients. She said that this guy takes a ton of samples IN the office....saliva, anal swab, breath test, regurgitation (yes she said that)....the works....she couldn't remember his name but I thought that surely she was talking about Dr. Cahill. Nope....just a lone anal swab is all....disappointing and disturbing all in one.
Not that I would do this to anyone I actually cared for but I feel that I could have just as well shat on a slide and sent it to my friends at MIT to get there nerd on.....for free:(
