Explain the connection to thyroid please...

So my dr. looked at my lab results and said my thyroid is off. Can anyone explain how that's connected to the adreanals? He expects my adrenal/cortisol saliva test to how depressed adreanals as well.

Is a thyroid problem common when dealing with AF? Where should one begin when addressing both?
