Last winter, I was diagnosed with mononucleosis and struggled to get over this virus because I had been drinking alcohol and attending classes throughout (didn't realize I had mono). After I finally overcame mono, I was left with visual static and much less energy than I had before, but I didn't think much of it. Throughout the time I had mono, I was taking Antibiotics for acne.
Now, this past September, I moved into a new dorm for college. Within two weeks, my health had deteriorated and I constantly felt dizzy, had headaches in the room, and had many sinus issues that made me feel pretty awful. Another few weeks went by, and I started to develop more symptoms, such as night sweats, toenail fungus, a weird taste in mouth, wrinkles under eyes, and a thin-coated tongue. By that time, I knew something was wrong and I went to see a school nurse. She simply dismissed my symptoms, claiming I was just having a bad allergy season. At this time, I stopped taking my doxycycline (for acne), which made it ~1.5 years of daily usage.
I waited a few more weeks until late November, when I did some Google searches that suggested toxic mold exposure. When looking in the bathroom, I found a good amount of mold behind the wallpaper and in the bathroom vent. I immediately had this checked by an environmental health inspector who confirmed it was toxic mold and suggested I move out. I moved the following day.
Now it's mid-January and I'm living in another dorm but only a couple of my symptoms have disappeared. I still have the following symptoms:
*Coated tongue (seems to be getting worse)
*Wrinkles under eyes
*Allergy symptoms (post-nasal drip, stuffy nose, bloodshot eyes in morning)
*Social isolation (I used to have 3-4 good days a week, then 1-2 in November, and now I haven't had a good day since late November).
*Anxiety (I never used to be this paranoid and nervous, it's ridiculous and I really don't think it's from school because I never had before)
*Dizziness (Seems to only affect me when I'm in public, so I would attribute to social anxiety)
*Intermittent face flushing
***CHRONIC FATIGUE*** (this is my worst symptom, and it's so difficult to just get out of bed in the morning even after 9 hours of sleep).
Here is a picture of my tongue:
Here are the symptoms that disappeared:
*Strange odor coming from mouth
I went to a natural medicine doctor last week and I'm awaiting my Candida stool test results, but I'm nervous that if I had intestinal FUNGUS issues, it wouldn't be detected on this test. Please help me, I will do anything to feel better this is the longest nightmare.
