Re: Nursing mom with nipple thrush

I fought this for 3 months with my last baby. Gentian violet on the skin and baby powdered probiotics mixed with water in a bottle was the clincher. Once I was able to get some gut flora going in her tummy, we could fight it together. Start with with a small amount of powder and work your way up. It can cause runny diapers if too much to soon. Maybe start with a quarter teaspoon in 2oz of water. I also nursed so I know you will be worried about nipple confusion but they will figure it out. I ended up nursing her only after we got it cleared up. She is thriving and I will add that she got her first cold and Antibiotics at age 4.5. I do believe that is to the fact that she had the gut flora strengthen at such a young age.
