I know I mention the Dr. oz show a lot, but I saw a recent show that had to do with protein. He clarified the study about eating lots of protein is worse than smoking cigarettes by explaining it does not apply to healthy protein, which is egg, 2 tb of peanut butter or handful of nuts, 1/2 cup of legumes, cup of plain Greek yogurt, or 3 ounces of fish/poultry/beef. It was advised to eat a little amount of protein every 2-3 days to distribute it throughout the day because your body cannot absorb a large amount of protein at dinner time. It is pretty easy to get protein by eating 2 tb of peanut butter or handful of nuts every 2-3 hours.
